Richard Abbott was transported on the Waterloo, departing 11th Mar 1833 and arriving 3rd Aug 1833 with 216 passengers.
1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Ticket of Leave granted June1841. States he must remain in the area of Mudgee. This document has a note added “Reported dead see – (illegible) in Mudgee dated 1 March 1842. Reg. 4….831




Age 30. Education: Read and Write. Married with 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. Religion: Protestant. Physical Description: A sallow complexion with brown hair and grey eyes. Small lump on left cheek bone. Long scar on back of lower left arm. Scar back of left thumb. Served 3 years at Millbank.
