George Bell - transported to NSW for fourteen years in 1832 onboard the Clyde. Born 10th May 1811 at Saint Mary, Cray, Kent, England, George was convicted of stealing rabbits with his brother Joseph at age 21. Once in the colony, George was assigned to James Bettington and worked on his properties in the Cassilis and Maitland regions. On December 6th 1860 George married Johanna Ryan at Baan Baa, New South Wales, Australia, having 11 children. George passed away September 6 1893 at Narrabri, New South Wales, Australia. Convict Indents state he was a farm labourer, Protestant, 5 ft. 4 ¾ inches tall, ruddy and freckled complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, and had a small scar on right thumb.
