1828 Census: James was assigned to Dr. Douglas at Gerringong.

26/12/1832: Married Margaret Robinson, age 24 (Priness Charlotte) and they had 10 children.
James and family resided at “Willowgrove Estate”, where he made an initial purchase in 1837 of 150 acres from Archibald MacLeod which would later become a squattage of about 1000 acres.
James died at Gunardoo, NSW.
