William Bowdler was 20 years old on arrival in VDL. Born in Sheffield, Father: James, Mother: Martha at native place. William was 5'3 1/2" tall, dark complexion, dark brown hair, black whiskers, brown eyes, pockpitted, tattoos, could read, married. His occupation was a 'Vicemaker'. 9/5/1848: TOL 13/5/1850: Married Elizabeth Attwood (Tory 1848) - Elizabeth had a relationship with Charles Spratt (Prince George 1837 NSW) back in England, they had 2 children together. 21/5/1853: CP 17/8/1858: Certificate, Hobart. 9/7/1860: William Bowdler died aged 50 at H.M. General Hospital, Hobart of Pneumonia. Listed as a Blacksmith. Elizabeth then married Charles Frost on 9/5/1889.
