Married Ellen Timson in Newcastle 21.08.1832. They lived at Seaham on the Williams River, then to Dempsey Island and to Ash Island in the Hunter. they had six daughters, the youngest born after his death. He was employed by Major Crummer caring for cattle on Ash Island when he died.
