David Boyd was the subject of an ‘unnatural crime’forcibly committed upon his person in the coal mines in November 1845. Two men were convicted of this crime - William Collier and Job Harris - and were hanged on the 31st of December in Hobart. David was suppose to have perished after absconding from South Port 20\8\1847.
