Thomas Bransgrove was 23 years old when indicted for stealing 5 oxen, value £60, the property of William Welch. 2nd count - for stealing on the same day, 3 oxen, value £60 the property of Richard Parsley and William Cox, and 2 oxen, value £20, the property of Henry Parsley. Thomas was sentenced to death, with a recommendation to Mercy. Thomas was 24 years old on arrival in VDL. 1828: Was Poundkeeper and District Special Constable at 'Formosa', Lake River. 1830: Became overseer to Mr W E Lawrence in the same district. 1832: Married Elizabeth Hinckman, she was a Widow. 1831: Thomas formed a butchering partnership in 1831 in Launceston with his brother William, whom he had persuaded to immigrate to the Colony. 1851: Thomas died. His widow Elizabeth then married his brother William. There were 2 Bransgrove's who were convicts, the other was William Bransgrove, transported to NSW per England in 1835 - they must be related, the crimes are so similar and they are from the same place.
