John Bray was listed as 27 years old on arrival in VDL - he was born in London. Occupation: worked at a Blast Furnace. John was 5'5" tall, brown eyes, light brown hair, single. Conduct Record: Worked at the Government Garden - awol and drunk, lashes and the treadmill. Last entry:26/10/1829 - Gov. Garden/Absent from Muster last night - 25 lashes and return to his duty. 148 lashes from 1826 to 1829. 19/3/1830 - Date of burial - registered Hobart - Found dead in the bush - supposed to have hung himself.
