Belfast Newsletter 9 April 1798 page 4: "Dennis BREEN was found guilty of robbing W Roe of his arms. Same defence (i.e. an alibi) and same Counsel. (i.e. Counsel for the Crown - Messrs Barrington, Moore, Smith, Ridgeway & Kemmis; for the prisoners, Mr McNally.) ShIP INDENT for Minerva records: Labourer. Life Sentence. Rebel. Aged 26. Written is that he was discharged on the order of Lord Castlereagh.
