John Brennan was transported on the Andromeda, departing 28th Aug 1830 and arriving 18th Dec 1830 with 71 passengers.
Also, same day, from Cork, whence she sailed May 25th, the ship Andromeda, 401 tons, Benjamin Gales master, with 173 female prisoners; Henry Kelsawl, Esq., Surgeon-superintendant. Passengers — Fourteen free females, viz. Mary Manning, Martha Morron, Margaret Mahon, Margaret Sheedy, Mary Ann Nixon alias Welsh, Catherine Kiernan, Mary Cassock, Catherine Stanton, Johanna Neville, Mary Lyons alias Hynes, Maria Moran, Catherine O'Donnel, Margaret Kennedy, and Mary Sullivan, and twenty-six children; also twenty-three children belonging to the prisoners. John Brennan was 15 years old when transported for stealing a horse and cart. His occupation was a "Gardener's Boy". Assigned to Standish Lawrence Harris, Hunter River on arrival. 30/9/1840: Paterson - Absconded from Andrew Lang on 19th Sept. Aged 25. John had a ruddy much freckled complexion, light brown hair, blue eyes. 7/10/1840: Apprehended. 21/6/1845: TOL Maitland. 27/1/1847: TOL cancelled for dishonest conduct. 3/9/1851: TOL Passport - on application of Mr. Clerkson. 10/10/: CP. 1844: Married Mary Grace/Dobbs. Found no issue. John Brennan died after 1851 and Mary then lived with Thomas Grono. They married C1856 and had 7 children.
