Martin could read, was RC, single, 5'6¼" tall, dark complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, scar outer corner of left eyebrow, scar on front of head, small scar forefinger of right hand. 9/2/1838: Newcastle - : Assigned to A.A. Company. Sentenced to 50 lashes for absconding. 28/2/1838: Newcastle - Apprehended after absconding from A.A. Company 14/10/1845: TOL Newcastle - altered to Maitland 19/3/1849. 10/8/1850: CP
