Aaron was a miner in Bedminster Bristol and was trapped underground with his father and brother Joseph in a colliery collapse 20/6/1851- 6 people died. The family appeared to have had quite a few run ins with police. Aaron Britton had a brother John Britton, also a convict in WA, who was known as John Still- he was transported to Australia in 1864 0n the Clara. He married an Irish girl from the workhouse in Cork, Jane Kelly(she arrived on the bride ship City Of Bristol in 1857)in Newcastle WA(now known as Toodyay) in 1872. They had children Jane Amelia(b.1873 York WA) Aaron Joseph(b. 1875 Geraldton WA) and Ida Elizabeth (b. 1877 Geraldton WA) After he'd completed his sentence the family moved to Collingwood Victoria. Aaron Joseph died there in1885. John died in Collingwood in 1892. Jane died in Adelaide in 1907.
Aaron stole a watch - and some other property - from Thomas Morgan on the 24th November 1859 in Long Ashton. Aaron, and Aaron's accomplice, James Garland, beat Thomas quite severely to the point where he lost two teeth. Aaron's trial was held at Taunton on the 19th March 1860.
Aaron Britton's parents were John Britton and Eliza Peters. Aaron had six siblings: William, John, Eliza, Albert, Isabella and Joseph. Aaron's family seemed to have all committed a crime at some point in their lives, but was the only one to have served a life sentence in penal colony.
