He was tried for street robbery at Edinburgh Court of Justiciary Scotland on 13 7 1821, sentenced to 14years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 15 7 1822 after a voyage of 3months on GUILDFORD. He became a groom to John (McArthur). He was issued his Ticket of Leave 29/401 on 15 7 1829 at Parramatta. He married Ann (Masterson age16) with permission on 25 8 1830 at Parramatta/St Peters CofE Campbelltown. He died in 1846 age41. Ann Masterson and her sister Alice, accompanied their mother Margaret Masterson per Elizabeth, 1818. In 1828 census they were living with their mother, free by servitude, employed as a washer woman, at Parramatta.
