John Brown was transported on the 'Minerva' departing 22 Dec 1817, arriving van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) 7 June 1818. Convict no. 8037. John was convicted July 1817 for Highway Robbery - Life sentence. Colonial Offences: 15/10/1821 Drunk & disorderly - Reprimanded and discharged. 04/05/1824 Refuse to obey Magistrate - forfeit Ticket of Leave and returned to P.A. 06/08/1830 Absent from quarterly Muster - admonished. Conditional Pardon 403 21/08/1832 There is a record of a John Brown per Minerva, married to convict Mary Lynch (Morley)1831 Hobart.
