Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Hindostan' arriving there 11 Sept 1839. Ship surgeon's report: "middling". Aged 18 yrs; single woman; 5' height; house girl; Roman Catholic; not literate. Native place of birth: Liverpool Mother: Mary, at London Brother: Denis Sisters: Ellen & Mary Colony of VDL: Assigned to service work 22 Feb 1845: Ticket of Leave granted. Application for Permission to Marry: 20 Jan 1842 - George BRITTON (per 'Elizabeth') to 2 no. 1400)Margaret BROWN (per 'Hindostan'). Approved. MARRIAGE: 21 Feb 1842 at Trinity Church, Hobart.
