10/8/1839 Staffordshire Gazette and County Standard Staffordshire, England: LOCAL AND PROVINCIAL William Garner, 20, Samuel Sykes, 28, and William Brown, 28, uttering a false check for £65. All were on board the Maitland.

William could read, was protestant, single, 5'6¾" tall, dark sallow complexion, dark brown mixded with grey hair, dark chestnut eyes, raised mole on right cheek, mole on left side of chin, two moles on left side of neck, three on right side of same, and two on right collar bone, scar back of little finger of right hand, two scars back of middle finger of left hand. 1846: TOL Newcastle.
