Wm. Crane, of Horning, Thos. Frosdick, of Sutton, and Abel Buck, late of Coltishall, three masters of wherries, were on Thursday last committed to our gaol, by the mayor, on suspicion of stealing a quantity of barley  the property of Mr. B. Dowson, of this town. John Lincoln, another master of a wherry, and a publican residing on the North Quav, also implicated in this transaction, have been admitted to bail.  Cambridge Chronicle, 24 Nov 1826.  … the following prisoners were tried :— Wm. Crane and Abel Buck, for stealing about ten coombs of barley, the property of Mr. Benjamin, to transported tor seven years.—Thos Frosdick and John Lincoln, charged as accomplices, were acquitted.  Norfolk Chronicle, 28 April 1827.  YARMOUTH, May 3. Tuesday last, the following prisoners were removed from our gaol for transportation, viz.:— Abel Buck, Wm. Crane, Robert Williams, Wm. Bensley, Wm. Smith, and Samuel Easter, for the term of seven years. Norfolk Chronicle, 5 May 1827.
