William Burke was 24 years old and came from Antrim. He was single. 1/6/1836: Groom at Williams River. 26/9/1838: Groom, age 28, absconded from Charles Nicholls since September 17th, Maitland. 8/5/1839: Apprehended, Maitland. 15/6/1841: Apprehended after absconding from service, Maitland. 5/4/1844: Age 34, absconded from John Christian, Maitland. WLilliam was 5'9 1/2" tall, ruddy complexion, brown hair, bluish eyes, nose sharp at the point, breast hairy, burn mark small of left leg. 18/6/1844: COF. 11/1/1845: Maitland QS - charged with embezzlement.
