10/3/1817 Hampshire Chronicle: John Brown and William Burke, charged with a highway robbery on the person of Peter Chamberlain, at Alverstoke, pleaded guilty - Death. William Burke was listed as 22 years old on arrival. Native Place: Limerick. Occupation: Soldier/Servant. Colonial Secretary Papers: BURKE, William. Per "Larkins", 1817 1817 Dec 2: On list of convicts disembarked from the "Larkins" and forwarded to Liverpool for distribution (Reel 6005; 4/3497 p.192) 1826: Married Bridget Thornton, came free per 'Woodman' 1823. Children: 1827: Amelia Burke 1830–1880: Emma Burke 1833–1886: William Burke 1844: William Burke died in Sydney, NSW. 8/8/1844 The Sydney Morning Herald: THE Friends of the late Mr. William Burke are respectfully solicited to attend his funeral, which will take place This Day at half-past two o'clock precisely. The procession will move from the residence of Mr. Thomas Place, Argyle-street. August 8.

William Burke arrived on the "Larkin" as a convict and was working as custom excise officer in 1823 at 100 pound per year. He married Bridget Thornton in 1826 and they had two daughters, and a son. His second daughter Emma born 1830 married James Cooper Ex convict at Goulburn in1846 . William died at Sydney in 1844 William was my gr/gr grandfather.... Adrian Cooper Email patngus1@bigpond.com
