Catherine Burns was charged with stealing gowns at Edinburgh on 22/01/1838 - 7 yr sentence. Transported on the 'Nautilus', arriving Van Diemens Land 01/09/1839. Gaol Report: very bad previous connections. Noisy, smokes and swears. Native Place: Edinburugh, Scotland. Aged 23yrs; 4'11"; brown hair; grey eyes. Assigned to Mr. Priaux, Launceston 1838. Jan 1844: Application for permission to marry John Mason (convict per Wm. Miles)
