1832: On arrival in VDL, he was 21 and single. He was assigned as a labourer to Mr Turnley, Hobart Town (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON27-1-5$init=CON27-1-5). 1842, 1 January: He was granted a Conditional Pardon. 1846: Edward Burns received his Free Certificate (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-5$init=CON31-1-5p6).

1832, 9 January: Convicted at Liverpool for street robbery. 1832, 5 February: Edward Burns, 20, was received aboard the prison hulk Justitia, moored at Woolwich. Sent from there on 11 February for transportation (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849).
