Police Reports, Sydney. August 1. John Burnes, prisoner of the crown, charged with stealing a candlestick from a free woman, into whose house the prisoner came to ask for work. As soon as the prisoner was gone, she missed her candlestick from the cupboard, in which the had seen it a few minutes before. To a penal settlement for 12 months. Sydney Gazette, 5 Aug 1826.
