William was 23 years old on arrival in VDL. Transported for stealing 2 pigs. William was 5'6" tall, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, small scar on breast, stout made, right leg been broken. 25/1/1838: Neglect of work - 30 lashes. 24/3/1841: TOL 1843: COF. 1843: Married Mary Steward/STeward (Platina 1837) at Avoca, Tasmania. 17/11/1845: There was a passenger William Butters per Henry from George Town to Adelaide - no Mary, however, there was also a Reverend William Butters in Tasmania around the same time, so it could have been him ??
