Per "Earl St Vincent", 1818 1822 Dec 13 Servant of John Shea; attestation as to his character for a ticket of leave (Reel 6026; 4/1715 p.165) I hereby certify that Daniel Callaghan who came by the Ship Earl St Vincent which arrived in the year 1818, has not been convicted of any crime or misdemeanor in this Colony; but is to our certain belief an honest, sober and industrious character, having faithfully served JohnShea, residing in the district of Minto, since he has been taken off the Stores, making in all 4 years. Sentence of 7 years. Dec 10 1822. (Signed) W. Howe, J.P. ; John Shea; I do not know of anything to the prejudice of D. Callaghan. (Signed) Rob. Cartwright Kilkenny Co, Mar 1818, 7 years.
