1826, July 21: William Campbell, per Dorothy, admitted to Sydney jail from the General Sessions, Sydney; on a felony charge; to be sent to the penal settlement for three years; discharged 24 August to Parramatta (see NSW Gaol Description and Entrance Books, 1818-1930; Entrance Book Sydney 1825-1832).

1830, 5 July: Certificate of Freedom granted to William Campbell; native place Oakham; cooper; born 1796; 5’9”, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes. Notation: Had three years added to original sentence [for robbery] by Sydney Bench 1826 for stealing a cask of pork (see Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1814, 1827-1867; Butts of Certificates of Freedom 1830 July All Records).

1831: At Maitland William Campbell, 34, per Dorothy, free, is granted permission to marry Anne Moore, 23, per Asia, bond (see NSW Registers of Convicts’ Applications to Marry, 1826-1851).
