Cork Assizes – City Court. James Crawley, Thomas M'Carthy, Michael Lynch, Denis Hayes, and Edmond Cunavan, were put to the bar, charged with burglariously entering the house of Francis Bernard Beamish, Esq., at Grenville Place, ou the night the 30th of June last, and stealing thence a quantity of articles, consisting of a work-box, ... cloak, some bracelets, linen, &c. &c. Witnesses were then examined to prove the charge, but no evidence having been given to shew that the prisoners had broken into the premises, they were acquitted of the burglary, but convicted of the stealing. Sentence—Transportation for 7 years. Southern Reporter, 20 Oct 1832.
