John or Hugh Carberry from Dungowan 5; 2 3/4 brown complexion and hair grey eyes middling behaviour sent to Canterbury Barracks The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser (NSW : 1803 - 1842) View title info Thu 23 Jun 1825 Page 3 POLICE REPORT. Monday, June 14, .....James Murphy, Thomas Forrester, and John Carberry, prisoners of the Crown, were brought up, charged with stealing a cockatoo from the paling of a house near the Race-course. The bird was found in the possession of a person to whom one of the prisoners, who was present, had just sold it for seven shillings; the other two were looking about in the street, to share their proportion of the spoil. The cockatoo was in Court, and identified.
