Stated this offence- Desertion, 2 days absent. Twice for same, 2 and 3 mos. 40 days- making away with soldier’s necessaries. Single. Surgeon’s Report: Smart cleanly lad, well behaved. Trade, Labourer, age 22, Native place, Tipperary. Remarks – Has been a soldier, Branded DDD on the left side 19th Regt 3 years. 21 Sept 1844, Ticket of Leave. Conditional Pardon approved, Gazette, 10 Nov 1846. Remarks: Recd. To H.M. the Queen for a C. Pardon available in the Australian colonies and New Zealand, Gazette, 18/11/1845. ----------------------------------------------------
