Source for all the following is NSW Archives record 4/2244.1: 1829-01-17 transported to NSW for life 1829-10-13 transported to NI for 3 years by the Convicts Bench for absconding from chain gang 1832-10-13 colonial sentence expired 1834-01 claimed that in 1832 Morisset recommended Carter be an overseer for two years, and to have ticket of leave at end of that period
