Sick list of the Moreland 1838: Folio 55: Sylvester Carthy, aged 22, ship’s crew; sick or hurt, diarrhoea; put on sick list, 8 August 1838, discharged 18 August 1838 cured. also Folio 13: Sylvester Carthy, aged 22, [convict?]; sick or hurt, diarrhoea; put on sick list, 8 August 1838, discharged 18 August 1838 cured. 1844 TOL Yass Found nothing on 'Trove' - nothing on the BDM's of NSW, Vic, or QLD. Nothing on Tasmanian records.




Sylvester CARTHY was just 10yrs old when he was convicted at Carlow, Ireland in 1838 for stealing money. 10yr transportation sentence. Sent to New South Wales, Australia per the 'Westmorland' arriving 22 Aug 1838. Aged 10yrs; errand boy; Roman Catholic; single man. Native Place - Carlow, Ireland.
