Convict Notes
Convicted for Rape of his father's servant Margaret Flannigan (24 yrs old) transported to VDL for 10 years. Surgeons Report General conduct quarrelsome & not well behaved looks only 35 yrs old (age: 47) Height 5' 4 1/4" Complexion: ruddy, Nose: crooked, Mouth: wide, Eyes: Grey, Scar on eyebrow, Scar on upper lip. April 1847 Found guilty of attempted rape of a 4 yr old child given 50 lashes & sentenced to 3 years in chains at Port Arthur freed in 1852 he departed VDL for Melbourne on the ship Mercury.
