On page 45 of the NSW Convict Death Register, Cassidy's date of death at Norfolk Island is provided as 25 February 1832.




ADM 101/18/2 1822 Medical journal of the Countess of Harcourt, convict ship, for 12 July to 26 December 1822 by Robert Armstrong, surgeon and superintendent, during which time the said ship was employed on a voyage to New South Wales. Folio 18: William Cassidy, aged 44, taken ill at sea; disease or hurt, general pain over his limbs with some fever. Put on sick list, 14 November 1822, date of discharge unknown. Folio 23: William Cassidy, aged 40, taken ill at Sydney; disease or hurt, since 14th November has continued in the hospital. Put on sick list, 14 November 1822, sent 22 December 1822 to hospital at Sydney.
