Convict Notes

Died in Gaol Hospital, Gipps Ward. Disease of the heart, liver and kidneys. 27 Dec 1883

Patrick died in Melb Gaol hospital 27 Dec 1883. The 1886 Kew Asylum 1886 death commonly copied is NOT Patrick Cassin the convict on Ratcliffe. The Kew asylum record confirms different person. Kew person was married to Dora/Norah - from Maldon. Matching the Tarangower times death notice in the paper. The Melb Gaol Patrick, record matches his Gaol record. And I believe is the correct death for Patrick Cassin - convict. As well as 14 years transportation, his sentence also including being branded with a D. He was a habitual deserter.
