Isaac Castle: born 1810 Bampton, Oxfordshire, England. Died abt 29 Jan 1848 in Wagga Wagga NSW was married to Hannah Whitaker (1830-1889) and had one son Isaac Cassels (1847-1934). After Isaac Castle's death, Hannah married Henry Norton aka "Stumpy Harry" at Yass in 1849 (also a convict) (1813-1871) and also married John Dullage at Tumut in 1880 (also convict) (1820-1896).




Oxford University and City Herald Oxfordshire, England 23 Feb 1833: OXFORDSHIRE ASSIZES Isaac Castle, charged with felony, at the township of Hampton. **(Stealing sheep skins). Isaac Castle was 21 years old on arrival. Native Place: Oxfordshire. Medical Journal of the Lord Lyndoch: Folio 5: Isaac Castles, aged 21, convict, case number 13; disease or hurt, pleuritis. Put on sick list, 2 July 1833 at sea. Discharged 16 July 1833 cured. Isaac was illiterate, protestant, single, 5'9" tall, brown complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, scar left side of upper lip, scar left side of neck, scar ball of left thumb, scar back of same, scar back of forefinger of same hand. 3/2/1842: COF
