Thomas Chubb was convicted at Gloucester in 1833for stealing a watch. Life Sentence. Transported to New South Wales on the 'Camden' arriving 1834. Tried Sydney, New South Wales 01/02/1840 for attempted murder - bushranging, firing at the Police near Bathurst. Had absconded from service for about 3mths. Life Sentence (not to be returned). To Norfolk Island 01/03/1840 - for nearly 5yrs. Transferred to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Lady Franklin' 26/11/1845. Probation 1yr. Emerged from Gang 24/05/1846. Ticket of Leave 23/01/1849 Conditional Pardon 13/07/1852 Records of departures from Tasmania: To Melbourne, Victoria on 20/10/1852 per Yarra Yarra (on Conditinal Pardon). To Melbourne, Victoria on 25/07/1853 per Clarence (on Conditional Pardon).
