Jonathon Coe married Mary Ann Gallagher daughter of an enrolled pensioner guard John Gallagher, at Port Gregory, WA on 23rd February, 1856. He later operated a blacksmith forge in Geraldton, WA. He suffered a severe stroke and was unable to work, so sold his blacksmith business to a Daniel Marsh.
He died on 8th September, 1885 and was buried in the Urch St cemetery in Geraldton.
