n.b. There are two John Coffee's on this voyage of the Minerva. Distinguished by Identifier 1 and Identifier 2. They were cousins and both charged the same offence. John COFFEE (Identifier 2): Convicted at Clare, July 1817 Ireland for sheep stealing. Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Minerva' arriving 1818. Assignments in Colony. Ticket of Leave granted. Several notes of misconduct. 1825: Absent and threatening to run away. Sent to Maria Island (east coast of Tasmania). 22 Aug 1836: Conditional Pardon no. 905 22 April 1843: Supreme Court, Hobart - Further Life sentence. To be sent to Port Arthur Penal Settlement. 8 May 1843: removed from Port Arthur and sent to Bridgewater Station. 1846: at Oatlands
