Coffee family arrival on the 'Boadicea' from London to Hobart, Feb 1836: Eliza, aged 15yrs Sarah, aged 16yrs Susan, aged 18yrs Margaret, aged 21yrs. Eliza was admitted to the Queens Orphan School, New Town (nr Hobart) 19 July 1836 until 9 March 1837 when she was released to an employer Lt. Young, Swanport. (Ref. SW28, Boadicea. Orphan 1015) Ref, not yet located for her brother William whom she stated was living here.




Sarah COFFEE arrived free to the Colony of Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Boadicea' (ref. 414145 7 Feb 1836)aged 16yrs, however was subsequently convicted at the Hobart Supreme Court, January 1838 for concealing the birth of her child. Native place of birth: Wexford, Ireland. Sisters - Susan and Eliza, at F. Kemp Esq., Hobart Brother - William, living with their uncle William. 1838: Aged 19yrs; single; can read & write; Protestant. To serve 12 months hard labour at the Female House of Correction, Hobart.
