George Cole was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 29th Sep 1818 and arriving 4th Mar 1819 with 160 passengers.

Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

Assize Intelligence.  William Pack, aged 21, and George Cole, alias Durling, for robbing Barbara Letchford of 13s. on the King's highway, at Cuxtoe; Morning Post, 4 Aug 1818. On Thursday last were removed from the County Gaol Maidstone, and put on board the hulk, eight male convicts, William Pack, George Cole, Joseph Bartholomew John Bartholomew, Tims. Biskin, John Murphy, Richard Wenham, and Jesse Newington.  Kentish Weekly Post, 11 Sep 1818.
