NSW Govt Gazette, 22 July 1835. Colonial Secretary's Office, Sydney, 21st July, 1835. TICKETS OF LEAVE CANCELLED. THE Tickets of Leave granted to the following prisoners have been cancelled for the reasons set against their respective names, viz :— Nithsdale— Edward Collins, misdemeanor.




24/7/1828 Worcester Journal Worcestershire, England: John Collins, aged 23, and Edward Collins, aged 18, colliers, charged with stealing four asses, the property of J. Jones, of Great Malvern, in the night of the 4th of June. Mr. Curwood conducted the prosecution. The donkies were traced to a lane at Crowle, where they were found in the possession of the two prisoners, who were immediately taken into custody, when they confessed the fact. Seven years' transportation.__The younger prisoner will be sent to the Penitentiary. John Collins was also onboard the Nithsdale. Edward Collins was 18 years old on arrival - he could read, was protestant, single, 5'3½" tall, pockpitted, brown hair, dark grey eyes. Assigned to the AA Company. 1834: TOL Windsor. 24/7/1837: COF 4/2/1842: COF renewed. 16/9/1837: At Sydney - Permission to marry Margaret Lane (Margaret) she was 23 and on Bond - Edward was 25 and free.




Edward Collins first married convict "Margaret Lane" on 23/09/1837. They later lived at Warwick, Queensland. Margaret was killed in a fatal accident 21/10/1863. Edward married within a month of Margaret's death. Edward married Sarah 'Elizabeth' Ward on 16/11/1863 at Warwick, Queensland. The childrens birth were then registered as Sarah's children. Edward and Sarah had eight children of their own. Sarah (known as Elizabeth) and Edward are buried at Allora, Queensland Cemetery.
