In December 1844 at the High Court of Justiciary, Jane Gordon, Margaret Parker, Thomas Collins and William Owen were convicted - on 12 November 1843 'within a house in the High Street assault a country gentleman' (no further details) to the effusion of blood and rob him of money and articles. Each of the four accused received transportation for 10 years - see Scotsman newspaper 11 December 1844 p 3 on 'High Court of Justiciary'. However, there is no trace of William Owen on Convict Records having been transported.
