"Dominick Conlan was my 3 x Great Grandfather. He married Mary Ann Farmer (nee Smith and a widow) on 20th March 1840 at New Norfolk, Tasmania. She was 23 and he was 36. They had 9 children. They were both Irish and both transported. Their daughter Emily married Abraham Richardson and moved to the South Island of New Zealand. They had 2 daughters. Their daughter Mary Ann Richardson married Henry McDonald and they had my Grandmother - Rachel Emily McDonald. Rachel as a widow married Charles Prince and they had my Mother -Norma Mary Prince. Norma married Arthur Angus (deceased)and I am their daughter Lynette Raewyn Angus. I married David William Howe (deceased) and we have 2 sons - Craig and Scott Howe. Craig has 4 Children."

Dominick was 27 years old on arrival in VDL. Dominick was 5'6 1/4" tall, born in Sligo, Ireland, single, dark brown hair, dark grey eyes. 11/1/1834: Was being transported to Port Arthur per "Tamar", broke into the cargo hold and was found under the influence of liquor and received 36 lashes at Port Arthur. 22/11/1839: CP 3/8/1841: COF Married Mary Ann Farmer(1820-3/6/1875) and they had 6 children. Dominick died at Newtown, Hobart.
