TRIED: Summer Assizes in 1816 at Cork where he was convicted of sheep stealing and sentenced to death, commuted to transportation for life (New South Wales, Australia Convict Ship Muster Rolls and Related Records, 1790-1849; 1817, Chapman). NATIVE PLACE: Bantry Bay, Co Cork (http://members.pcug.org.au/~ppmay/cgi-bin/irish/irish.cgi).

Thursday evening Mr. Justice pronounced sentence of death upon the following fifteen persons convicted in the City of Cork, ... James Collins, John Connor, Daniel Connor, Richard Connor and Cornelius Connor, for sheep stealing, .... Dublin Evening Post, 12 Sept 1816. --------------------------------------------------- All arrived on Chapman.
