On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. John Connor was assigned 1 Aug 1821, to Francis Ewin Forbes, who was also transported from India to New South Wales on "Mary" in 1817. In Sept 1822, John Connor was tried and convicted for the theft of Forbes' sheep.
Criminal Court. Wednesday. John Connor was indicted for stealing a ewe lamb, the property of Mr. F. E. Forbes. Guilty.—Remanded. Sydney Gazette, 27 Sep 1822. --------------------------------------------------- MONDAY.—This day, at one o'clock, the Court reassembled : and the various prisoners, who had been found Guilty during the sessions, but upon whom sentence had not been passed, were now brought up to receive judgment. ...
