Francis was born in Scruton,in the North Riding of Yorkshire. He was the son of Elizabeth Constantine who married Sampson Rymer when Francis was 3. Francis was apprenticed in 1803 to Thomas Robinson of Guisborough Yorks. He was a Chelsea Pensioner having served in Canada and his army records say he was just under 5 foot 6 and had a sallow complexion

Francis was sent to the Port Arthur Penal Settlement (abbreviated to P.A.) and they would have additional records.

(No record found for a remarriage. There are other Constantine convicts sent to VDL who may be related?
