Thomas Cooper the father, aged 79, and the same John Cooper, were next tried for robbing Eatington Church of the communion plate, &c.; the father was acquitted, and the son found guilty.— Aris’s Birmingham Gazette, 17 April 1820.

Warwick Assizes:— CONDEMNED.— … George Butler and Joseph Pace, for a burglary in the house of Thomas Phillips, of Witton ; [John Cooper, charged with the same offence acquitted]; the same John Cooper, for sacrilege at Eatington ; … All the capital convicts were reprieved, except Ann Heytrey, Pace, Butler, and Cooper, who were left for execution.
