The Convict Indentures state that Patrick Coughlan is 36 years old.  He could read and write; religion Catholic; status widowed with one child.  A native of County Cork and is a ploughman and reaps.  He was convicted of pig stealing at Cork on 1 April 1828 and sentenced to 7 years.  He had no prior convictions.  Physical attributes - Height 5 feet 9 inches; complexion ruddy; hair dark brown to grey and eyes dark brown.  Transport number 117.
Assigned to H. McArthur, Parramatta.
Certification of Freedom issued in 1835 (number 35/419). Reference: Government Gazette Wednesday 6 May 1835.
