Old Bailey: EDWARD COVER, Theft > theft from a specified place, 16th July 1829. Reference Number: t18290716-110 Offence: Theft > theft from a specified place Verdict: Guilty > lesser offence Punishment: Transportation EDWARD COVER was indicted for stealing, on the 29th of June , 1 watch, value 3l.; 2 guineas; 26 sovereigns, and 15 shillings, the monies of William Brunsden , in the dwelling-house of Richard Campbell . GUILTY of stealing, but not in a dwelling-house . Aged 20. Transported for Seven Years . 1834: TOL, Evan 24/9/1836: COF 1841: Working on William Reeves property. 1842: Married Susannah Christes at Montifores, Wellington district. They had 4 children. Edward was a Pioneer settler of the Grattai district. Edward Cover had a least 5 small blocks of land at Grattai: 33 acres, 21, and 31 a total of 144 acres. 1855: Publican of ‘The Jolly Farmer inn’ at Grattai until C1865. By 1871 he was listed as a farmer. Susannah Cover died at Grattai in 1872 aged 49. 11/2/1891: Edward died at Grattai.
