21/7/1825 Morning Post London, England: ASSIZE INTELLIGENCE John Cox was put to the bar, charged with uttering a false, forged, and counterfeited bill of exchange for £20 to Thomas Fearnley. 30/7/1825 Sheffield Independent South Yorkshire, England: The sentence of death was then recorded against John Cox, for forgery. John Cox was tried 15 July 1825. 1828 Census: GS, Shopkeeper at Bonago, Hunter River. In the employ of John Hooke, farmer, Bonago, Hunter River. (Ref: H2305) JohnCox was a widower - his wife dead before he left England. John died of asthma 17 Feruary 1833 at Williams River.
