Joseph Cox was 28 years old on arrival in VDL. Joseph was 5'6 1/4" tall, dark brown hair, hazel eyes. His occupation was a "Tallow Chandler". 1822: Entered the dwelling house of Richard Burroughs at Sorell River and stole a quantity of flour and a musket. Sentenced to hang but was reprieved to Life. 1830-1832 Musters: Public Works. 1833 Muster: In hospital - an invalid. Went back on the chain gang and most of his conduct record states that he was drunk, neglect of duty, lashes etc. 27/9/1839: Died in Hospital.
